Candidate Analysis: Ron Paul

Pros:
Staunch defender of individual and state liberty
Opposes income taxes
Would massively curtail foreign expenditures
Would balance the budget and reduce our national debt
Would appoint Anti-Federalist judges
Distrusts the power of the judiciary
Opposes the unfair tax on distilled spirits
Strongly supports the right to bear arms as a necessity in defending a free state

Cons:
Opposes foreign entanglements
Opposes the assumption of state debts
Pro-French
Opposes a standing army
Rejects the supremacy clause
Opposes the First National Bank

Analysis: Ron Paul has stirred the hearts of disenchanted patriots across the nation, and endorsements by Mason and Henry certainly help. But none of that can counter the fact that Paul’s candidacy comes 200 years too late.

Odds of winning: 1787:1
